Privacy Policy

Sweatlist (“Sweatlist,” “we,” “us”) is an iOS app for rating and ranking fitness instructors. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It covers both the app and this website. We collect as little as we can and never sell your personal information.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with phone, Apple, Google or email, we receive an account identifier and, depending on the method, your phone number, email address and display name. With Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email.
- Profile you create. A display name, username, home city and the disciplines you follow.
- Content you submit. The ratings, love-tags, written reviews, lists, follows, reports and profile notes you create in the app.
- Instructor claim information. If you claim an instructor profile, we collect the studio email address and optional note you submit for verification. If your claim is approved and you upload a headshot, we store that photo for moderation before it can appear on your public instructor profile.
- Location. If you grant location permission, the app uses your approximate device location during the session to show nearby studios and instructors. You can use Sweatlist without granting location permission.
- Usage & diagnostics. App-level analytics and basic diagnostics used to keep Sweatlist working and to improve it. This is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- Pre-release email signups (this website, closed 4 August 2026). Before Sweatlist was released we collected email addresses through a signup form on our homepage. That form is gone now that the app is out, and we are no longer collecting addresses this way. We still hold the addresses already given to us, for the one purpose they were given for: to email you once, to say Sweatlist is available on the App Store. We have not added them to a marketing list, and you can ask us to remove yours at any time at adam@blrbdigital.com. To stop the form being abused, we also keep a short-lived, scrambled record derived from your IP address so we can limit how many signups come from one place. It is kept for about an hour and is not used to identify you.
How we use it
- To operate core features like sign-in, saving your ratings, building leaderboards and lists.
- To compute fair, per-category, scope-fair rankings of instructors.
- To verify instructor profile claims and review user-submitted headshots before publication.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix bugs.
- To communicate important service messages (we do not send marketing email without consent).
How we share it
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that run the app on our behalf, such as Google Firebase for authentication, database and analytics, under agreements that limit their use of it. Ratings, reviews, public lists, follows and profile names may be visible to other Sweatlist users as part of the app experience. Ratings also contribute to public, aggregated leaderboards and instructor score summaries.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account from inside the app in Profile settings. Account deletion removes your account, ratings, lists, activity, reports, claims and uploaded claim headshots, and releases any instructor profile you managed. The studio and instructor catalog remains because it is public directory content, not account content. Aggregated, de-identified statistics may remain.
You can also contact adam@blrbdigital.com for privacy requests or help if you cannot access the app.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any right, contact adam@blrbdigital.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Children
Sweatlist is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.
